ABOUT POCRI

Pocri is a charming, quiet fishing town. It is just 15 minutes South of the mid-sized town of Las Tablas (the center of Carnaval) and 15 minutes North of Pedasi, the most popular tourist town in the area.  This region is well known as the folkloric center of Panama and is famous for world-class fishing, hot & dry weather and excellent surfing.  Pocri has all the charm, proximity to the beach and fantastic fishing of more popular towns like Pedasi...but is not yet overrun with tourists, speculators and therefore, tourist prices.  Isla Iguana National Park, one of the prime attractions in the area, is a short boat ride offshore.


Pocri is about 4.5 hours from Panama City, 15 mins from both Las Tablas and Pedasi.

The town itself is appealing and well kept, with a noticeable revival of the town center thanks to some government help.  The town square and old police station have been recently remodeled, with the latter now converted to a folklore museum.  What makes Pocri attractive from our perspective is that one can enjoy the proximity to semi-modern comforts (shopping, hospitals, restaurants) in Las Tablas, while still being close enough to the growing tourism and expat vibe of Pedasi. It would seem a matter of time before investors get wise to the reasonable property values available only in Pocri.

 

WHO WOULD BUY THIS HOUSE?

  • Retirees -- it's a simple, quiet and affordable place to spend your golden years. The people are friendly, the weather is good and there are plenty of outdoor activities to keep one busy. You won't find a better value near the beach.
  • Fishing Enthusiasts -- there is absolutely incredible fishing in this area for most of the year. Tuna, Wahoo, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Rooster and Red Snapper are just a few.
  • Entrepreneurs -- there are too many business opportunities in this area to mention. This house could be a sport fishing outfitter, a cafe, a B&B or any business that wants a main street location. It's just seconds from the main highway that heads to the most popular beaches in the region.
